UC8
Vocal group UC8 is UCL Music Society’s newest ensemble. Taking inspiration from groups VOCES8 & the King’s Singers, this octet performs repertoire from all throughout musical history, right up to Barbershop, Folk arrangements, and other contemporary works. UC8 puts on two high-quality concerts each year, alongside performing and recording for other projects including films, plays, singles, and much much more. Some pieces from the range of music we’ve recently performed include: Ne irascaris, Domine (Byrd); Deep River (trad.); And so it goes (arr. after Joel); A boy and a girl (Whitacre); Dashing away with the smoothing iron (trad.).
Rehearsals: Wednesdays from 16:00-18:30
Auditions
Every year, the whole group is reauditioned: auditions consist of a prepared piece of the auditonee’s choice, some sight-reading, and some aural tests
